Clear nodes and margins – yay!

Although I expected to see the surgeon and get results tomorrow, the pathology report came today – with good news!   The nodes are clear and the margins around the tumor area have all normal tissue.  And the surgeon says I’m healing well from the surgery.  I’m so grateful for the good news.  I’m sure that the good thoughts and prayers and healing energy that so many people have sent and are sending have helped the chemo drugs and then the surgeon and the surgery team and have gotten me to these positive results.  Next week I’ll see my medical oncologist about the next steps there, and the following week I’ll meet with the radiation oncologist about that course of treatment.  And just before Christmas I’ll see the surgeon again to follow up on the surgery.  I expect to be starting the next round of chemo soon.

I was a bit more sore yesterday, but today I’m feeling better and am not taking the pain pills.  It’s amazing to think that I just had surgery Monday, and here on Thursday I’m feeling almost as good as new.  Thanks to all of you who’ve prayed for me and have sent good thoughts and good mojo my way.  I’ve gotten gifts and meal deliveries and all kinds of fun stuff this week to celebrate my birthday – and successful surgery.  I’m grateful for all of that and all of the support I’ve received.  My cup runneth over.  Many thanks and much gratitude – more than I can put into words.  I’m awash with gratitude, riding the current and enjoying this part of the journey.

  2. I know I’m a little late on this, but I’m so glad to hear everything went well! I hope your next chemo treatments go just as smoothly. I admire your grace and courage in handling all of this. =)
